Winter is the season of sickness! Colds and flus are circulating everywhere are you should definitely consider yourself lucky if you aren’t sick yet! I’ve already had it twice in the last two months – NOT FUN!
Here are some of my tips to ensure you stay as healthy as possible over the winter season!
This is a very obvious tip, but I cannot stress it enough! But water is sooooo important, any time of the year. Even if it means buying yourself a new water bottle (you can get some real cute ones) and carrying it around in your bag everywhere you go, it could save you a visit to the medicine aisle!
Regular Sleeping Pattern
I’m aware that sometimes people work certain hours and can’t keep a regular sleeping patter – I used to work shifts myself ! But going to bed and waking up at the same time every day and ensuring that you get a full 7-8 hours is key to keeping yourself healthy and ensuring you don’t become exhausted! You are more likely to get sick when you are tired!
Get out as much as possible
I know, I know… it is cold outside and you want to curl up into bed and binge watch Netflix! But you still can! as long as you make sure you get out for a walk at least once a day to get as much natural sunlight and fresh air as you possible can! Fresh air and natural sunlight is good for almost every bodily function and prevents you from getting stuffed up and developing headaches – which we all know are horrible to experience.
And tbh, who doesn’t want to go for a walk in the winter? Everything is so pretty
Make sure you wrap up!
The amount of times my friends and family have met up with me during the winter and shown up in a thin coat, no scarf, no hat nor gloves and have complained about being freezing cold then getting sick a few days later!
I’m totally aware that there have been discussions on whether this is a myth or not, but personally if I go outside in the cold and don’t wrap up, I will always end up sick one way or another! So I will always make sure I’m fully wrapped up and nice ‘n’ toasty!
And if you do end up sick?
Make sure you stay wrapped up and spend your days sipping on hot soup and honey and lemon water!
